Testosterone Enanthate: known by the trade names TESTOSTERONE ENENTHATE, DELASTERYL. • Androgenic potential: 100 • Anabolic potential: 100 • Chemical names: 1. 4-androsten-3-one-17-beta-ol 2. 17-beta-hydroxy-androst-4-en-3-one • Estrogenic activity: moderate. • Progestogenic activity: low. Description: • Slow-acting modified form of testosterone. • Extended release: application every 2-3 weeks. • Clinical use can reach 1×/week. • Use: “large gains in mass and strength” Structure: • Modified form of testosterone by the addition of an enanthoic acid in the 17-beta-hydroxyl group. • The less polar form of the esters promotes slower absorption at the application site. • After absorption, the ester is eliminated from the blood and the free form (active form) is released. • Half-life of approximately 8 days (larger therapeutic window/less frequent application). Administration: MEN • Clinical use (mainly related to androgen deficiency): 50-400 mg every 2-4 weeks. • Bodybuilding/Sport: 200-600 mg/week, in cycles for a period of 6-12 weeks. • Anabolic steroid mainly used in the volume phase due to the loss of physical quality (body definition) promoted by the increase in estrogen and the consequent water retention. • When used in the definition phase, a lower dose is used (100-200 mg/week) and is associated with the use of aromatase inhibitors such as arimidex (anastrozole). • Reports say that isolated use “already promotes good mass/strength gains.” • When used in a cycle (combination): Enanthate + 200-400 mg Boldenone Undecylate, or Primobolan, or Nandrolone Decanoate. Administration: WOMEN • Clinical use: rare/not common (inoperable breast cancer, when other therapies fail). • Bodybuilding/Sport: USE NOT RECOMMENDED (high androgenization potential and yet it is a long-acting drug, and once undesirable signs and symptoms begin, they may continue to occur due to the long half-life).
